General Dynamics Land Systems is nearing initial production of SMET MUTTs for delivery to the U.S. Army in fall 2022. The primary mission of the SMET MUTT is to offload the physical burden from dismounted Soldiers and provide them with expeditionary power. In the future, SMET MUTTs will be equipped with an array of Modular Mission Payloads.
• SMET MUTT can be remotely controlled, through tactical radios, via a 32-foot tether and a tactical radio-coupled remote wand. It is capable of self-recovery and also can be towed behind other tactical wheeled vehicles. It is air-transportable. In the future, SMET MUTT may be equipped with the Army’s Robotic Technology Kernel (RTK) Warfighter Machine Interface (WMI) for autonomous operation.
• Future Modular Mission Payloads provide capabilities previously unavailable to dismounted Soldiers, such as autonomous resupply, c-UAS, CBRN, ISR, EW and direct and indirect fire.
